Active Staff refers to physicians who routinely attend to patients at the hospital, serve on Medical Staff committees and are eligible to vote and hold office within those committees, and are responsible for on-call hours at the hospital.

Associate Staff refers to physicians who do not attend Medical Staff meetings and are not eligible to vote or hold office with respect to Medical Staff committees, and are not responsible for on-call hours at the hospital.

Provisional Staff refers to any medical professional who applies for hospital staff privileges and is granted 12-month provisional status.

Non-Physician Health Care Provider Staff refers to Nurse Practitioners, Physician's Assistants, Nurse Anesthetists, Surgical First assists, Optometrists and other medical professionals who are not physicians. These staff members cannot hold office or vote and do not serve mandatory on-call hours.

Other Staff refers to all general hospital staff.
